Rebellion
Diary Saturday
10th September 1994: The youth rebels to become other. It never succeeds
in becoming other by that means, because the rebellion is the very stuff of
perpetuity. It is merely a form of cell division: separation to become two. The
identity question is such an affair. In the effort to distinguish an identity
one creates two cells which, though separate are identical and are identical
precisely in the belief that they are different. Identity means sameness. And
you cannot be the same unless you have first separated for the sake of
comparison.
