Parallelogram, Kingston’s castramentation

A roman castrum: Three quarter’s of a mile North-South, Half a mile East West Porportion 3:2 a musical fifth. Covering 240 acres. The street blocks are 320 feet wide, bisected by lanes runing North South. Depth of each building is 150ft, street frontage is 50 feet. The plan was capable of accommodating many more persons than the 5000 refugees from Port Royal. In 1702 Lilly’s plan indicates that 274 of the 809 original lots had been sold.
