One legged men and walls
There is a young
one-legged man whose athelticism is extraordinary. In one well-practiced
movement he leans his crutch against the fence of Devon House park, near the
crossing of Trafalgar and Hope Road. He usually tries to wash windscreens.
Anyway, in one swoop he leans his crutch against the fence, grabs the top of
the fence, well above his shoulders, leaps over the fence, pushing off with his
one leg, lands on the other side in an elegant arc and grabs his crutch.
Diary Friday
12th July 1996: A man is leaning against a wall. His head was leaning against the wall
and so were his crutches. He was facing the wall. I wanted to thingk he was
depserate. But this is the way a one-legged man peas against a wall.
