Long term short term terminology

The economist Keynes, had a healthy disrespect for the long term, “we will all be dead by then anyway”. Utopian thinkers like Marx, and Hitler, were happy to sacrifice the individual to a so-called greater good, were happy to give to the narrow by taking away from the broad or vice verse. That greater good was a long term good, and the short term was completely abandoned for some vague, narrow and inevitably incomplete idea, which, it turned out, did not work.
